Demolition of a Mystery Tower

A huge “mystery” tower set up recently at Jalan Sri Hartamas 1 was brought down by KL city hall this morning using two cranes following complaints from neighboring residents of Duta Nusantara and after my letter of enquiry sent to the director general of city hall. Government personnel from many agencies were involved in this “legitimate” demolition including officers from TNB, JKR and the police. In fact, I highlighted the construction of the tower to the residents’ group of Duta Nusantara on 1st January to which its chairman told me that the structure was meant to be a clock tower under city hall landscape plan as this was what they were informed by JKR and city hall and the chairman thanked me for my concern. However, the residents’ group later realised that they have been played out or rather cheated or conned when the near completed tower was clearly in the shape of a telecommunications tower! It ain’t over just yet by bringing down the tower, city hall must follow up by lodging a police report against the culprit telecommunications company and its contractor for trespassing into state’s land which is a criminal offence punishable with imprisonment under 441 of our Penal Code 1997.

DBKL's are very questionable. Just look at Ipoh Road. The shophouses in front of Sentul polis station is set back but when the hotel in former cinema site was built, it was to the edge of the road such that the junction is very tight.

Also can you look at the JV between DBKL and developers. After the houses are sold, where do the money go. Living in KL is a loss unlike Selangor, where the state government provides some funding as a Selangorian as compare being a KLite.

Also watch out. In the past UMNO get away with the bridge from Maxwell School to PWTC FOC. JKR build FOC for them as compare with people in Jinjang and Kepong has to pay tolls in Jalan kuching.
