Halim SaidSegambut MP Lim Lip Eng (fourth from right) officially launching his service centre with colleagues and friends. KUALA LUMPUR: Many other roads will have to be temporarily closed just to fix one damaged road.
Works to rectify the cracked Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) will soon be underway, but Kepong MP Tan Seng Giaw is concerned that too many roads are being closed to facilitate the project, which would adversely affect motorists.
Tang was speaking at the launch of Batu MP Lim Lip Eng's DAP service centre in Taman City off Jalan Kuching.
Among those present were Low Gwo Burne (Kelana Jaya MP), Gobind Singh Deo (Puchong MP), Teresa Kok (Seputeh MP), Nurul Izzah Anwar (Lembah Pantai MP), Tan Kok Wai (Cheras MP), Lau Weng San (Kampung Tunku assemblyman), Ronnie Liu (Pandamaran assemblyman), and Hannah Yeoh (Subang Jaya assemblyman).
Lim said he could only launch his centre five months after winning the general election due to his hectic schedule.
"I have been operating my service centre since May and have been flooded with complaints, which are mostly on City Hall issues.
"However, I need to remind the people that they should forward their grouses on City Hall to the council first, rather than coming directly to me," he said.
He said his office also receives complaints that are beyond his scope.
"For example, I received a complaint from a wife whose husband left her following an argument.
The wife then came to my office and pleaded with me to look for her husband.
"Another complainant was a condominium resident who wanted me to 'take action' on a road in front of his unit which he claimed is haunted," said Lim.
Lim said he has reserved a two-hour time slot every Wednesday, between 8pm and 10pm, for the public to meet him.
To contact Lim, call his service centre at 03-6252 0234 or dapsegambut@gmail.com.
