PROJECTS to upgrade schools in the country have been identified as the top priority projects under the Economic Stimulus Package 1 and 2, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He said the Education Ministry has been allocated almost RM1bil for the purpose.
Replying in writing to Lim Lip Eng (DAP – Segambut), he said that second in the list of priority was infrastructure projects under the purview of the Implementation and Coordi-nation Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department. He said an allocation of RM600mil have been set aside for such projects.The Financial Guarantee Institution under the Finance Ministry, the ICU and the home assist project under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry were allocated RM500mil each under package 1 and 2.
